Instrument Scheduling Policy

Utilization of CNET Shared User Facility resources continues to grow, and as such, the following scheduling policy is in place and enforced to allow for fair and equal access to all of the instruments. We have noticed there can sometimes be large blocks of time reserved by an individual or coordinated group of users on high-use instruments, this policy is intended to help alleviate scheduling issues on those instruments and create efficient access to all instruments.

  1. Instrument FOM reservations are required for all usage. It is expected that you will use the instrument for the time you have reserved it.
  2. If experimental plans change please contact Brenda Fisher to remove, reduce or change your reservation.
  3. If an instrument is idle and no one has a reservation on it, the instrument can be used on a first come, first served basis, with usage logged into the FOM system.

If you have any questions or issues in the lab, please do not hesitate to contact the lab manager Brenda Fisher.
